This is why 2+ Eggs...

Morning All:

Kathy found a roasted chicken recipe she wanted to try...it called for starting the bird at 400 for 10 minutes then lowering the temp to 350 for an hour...we all know how difficult it is to lower the temp on an Egg so having two is best...Started the bird on the 400 Egg...

after 10 minutes moved the bird to the 350 Egg...

bumped the 400 Egg to 425 & added the pan of root veggies (including red potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, red beets, golden beets & garlic)...

just over an hour later the veggies are done...

and the chicken is done too (though didn't brown up as much as I thought it would, but still very tasty)...

So the next time someone asks why do you have more than one Egg...here is a very good reason!
Have a GREAT day!
Jay

Yep, I agree on the amount of eggs but you are preaching to the choir here!

Did you notice any difference cooking the chicken on 2 different temps vs. just going with one temp the whole cook?

The veggies look devine. What did you do with the whole roasted garlic at the end of the cook?

Morning Faith:

I know there are MANY Eggheads with more than two Eggs but also quite a few that have asked the question.

I REALLY doubt there is much difference in cooking at different temps for part of cook, but my much better half told me I had to follow the recipe so I did!

Once the veggies are tender I use a toothpick & pull out the garlic cloves & mix with the other veggies before serving.
Have a GREAT day!
