Yesterday I was cooking some ribs on the Egg. I used a goodly amount of hickory and cherry smoking chunks. I'm sure it didn't all burn up.

After I took the ribs off the thought occurred to me to bake some cookies, mostly to see if they picked up any of the smoke or rib flavors.

I seem to recall someone did the same thing about 15 to 20 years ago, claiming success. But I don't remember everyone jumping on his bandwagon to make more cookies.

Anyway, I had a half pack of refrigerated White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookie dough leftover from a previous cookie craving. So I got out my Emil Henry Pizza Plate and cooked me some cookies.

At that point, the Coop and me both smelled like Rib Smoke. Then I started to smell some cookies cooking. I took them off after about 12 or so minutes onto a cooling rack. One or two went missing. I'm told they were pretty tasty with no flavor of ribs or smoke.

The rest went into the cookie jar.

This morning the thought of those cookies flung a craving on me. So at 6:00 am I succumbed to the temptation to try one (actually two) (okay three).

The first thing I noticed was that the flavor was different, and in a good way. Eventually, I figured out that it was the smoke flavor I was tasting. And I was really enjoying it.

Sweetie (Spring Hen) came in for her coffee and I asked her about the cookies. She said they were too smokey and she didn't want anymore.

My question is, has anyone else tried cookies on the Egg, especially after a smoke cook? If so how did it go?
