Have not used egg in a long time

I know we have been through this in the past but being as I have not used my eggs in about a year I am thinking light it at about 250 and let it burn to clean the grid for several hours.

Keep in mind we don't have much moisture so I do not have moldy eggs. LOL I'm too old to take them to the self clean car wash, lay em out and power wash.

Your opinions?

Bob, I've never had any luck spray washing. I just use a putty knife and scrape off any offending particles.

"give to my neighbors" - you mean your BGE or food you might cook on it and give to them?

I would fill it full of lump, light that bad boy off and step back. Burn that thing hot and get everything clean, not just the grid🔥🔥🔥😎

I know what you mean, Bob. I believe the majority of the old birds our age fall into the gas grill user group. You know...turn knob and hit sparker button to ignite. Throw meat on grate and serve that tasteless burnt meat smothered in A-1 steak crap and then say "hmmmm, ain't grilled meat great?"

I think you should do it, Bob. And throw an onion on it... just to excite the neighbors (and maybe your own taste buds!).

Boatman is right- im surprised you didnt get a lot more responses like this!
I DO live where there is moisture in the air, and a good hot burn after a lenghy period of inactivity always does the trick!
