Wilted Lettuce Salad
Description:My mother told me of a recipe her mother made similiar to this. Only
she wilted the lettuce with hot bacon grease and then crumbled the
bacon in.
Ingredients:
• 1 head of Lettuce, washed and shredded
• ½ Cup Olive Oil, hot
• ½ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
• 2 Tbs Sugar, as needed
• 1 Red Onion, peeled and chopped (to garnish)
Instructions:**"Wilt" the lettuce with the hot oil in a large metal bowl.
(CAUTION: DEALING WITH OIL IS VERY DANGEROUS. MAKE SURE LETTUCE IS
DRY AND ROOM-TEMPERATURE TO AVOID SPLATTERS.) Add vinegar. Add sugar
as needed to offset acidity. Garnish with onion, chill and serve.
Delicious!

Serve with main course.
