Ingredients: | Dried figs - preferably new crop so nice and moist
callets of dark chocolate
walnut halves
bleu cheese
honey
Cluck and Squeal All purpose rub
some sort of cheese - either a nice cheddar, a gouda (or as we used at the eggfest - Beemster)
honey

Instructions: | The egg should be set up direct and about 350 F.
Cut the stems off the figs and insert your knife then your thumbs to open a cavity in the fig.
Stuff with a callet of chocolate and a walnut half - or - stuff with a drizzle of honey and a chunk of bleu cheese - or drizzle with honey then stuff with mashed together cheese and Cluck and Squeal rub.
Place stuffed figs in a vegetable grill and place on the grill. Let them cook for 5 to 10 minutes - until the stuffing is starting to show signs of melting. Remove from grill, drizzle the figs stuffed with bleu cheese or Cluck and Squeal cheese with a bit more honey before serving. |
